The JCB High Mobility Engineer Excavator (HMEE) is a groundbreaking military-grade backhoe loader engineered for speed, versatility, and protection. Designed to self-deploy with convoys, this machine combines the digging, loading, and road-clearance abilities of a traditional backhoe loader with the high on-road velocity and cross-country mobility of a combat support vehicle.

With a top speed of around 55 mph (88.5 km/h), four-wheel drive and steer, full suspension, and multiple protection levels (unarmoured A-Kit to fully armoured C-Kit), the HMEE enables military engineers to move quickly, respond to emerging threats, build infrastructure, and carry out obstacle removal – all without needing transporters. Built for global deployment and rugged terrain, it also supports military fuels, is air transportable, and provides ergonomic, protected working conditions to maximise efficiency in austere and hostile environments.
